Men needed for a brain study

LETTERHEAD

We need healthy men, aged 18 to 40, for a study of the effect of a gene and a drug on the performance of simple computer tasks.

If you take part, we will ask you to:

  • Provide a cheek swab (to see which form of the gene you have) then, if suitable, come to the lab and:
  • Complete some questionnaires;
  • Take a single tablet (either a drug or a dummy pill) and carry out simple reward tasks and tests of the processing of emotions.

You will be reimbursed for your time.

    1. Hi Sunan. The study is ongoing (we will continue to recruit participants until we have reached our target number). If you agree to be a participant, initial screening etc. is conducted by email/phone and then we will ask you to attend the lab for a day at a mutually-convenient time. Email comt.study@psych.ox.ac.uk for more information. Many thanks for your interest.

    1. Hi Alex. I’m afraid it might do – our ethics is quite strict on inclusion criteria (e.g. we can’t use anyone currently taking certain medications). Probably the best thing to do is to get in touch via the study email (comt.study@psych.ox.ac.uk) so that we can discuss in more detail. Thanks for your interest!

      1. I haven’t been on any medication for over 8 years and I will send an email next week, thanks.
